When Catherine moved to the US in 1996 she gave up her London-based career in commercial interior architecture. For 15 years she had designed spaces ranging from banks to hotels and restaurants, all the time developing a passion for architecture both old and new. This passion now strongly influences her paintings.

Her interest has moved away from formal illustration of buildings towards the exploration of the unplanned influence of age and humans on architecture.
